Podchaser To round out #WomenInHorrorMonth, we are talking about a little film from Poland called THE LURE ("Córki dancingu") the debut directial feat from Agnieszka Smoczynska.
Join me on a trip to Warsaw in the 1980's where two sisters (Marta Mazurek & Michalina Olszanskaare) about to make a splash on the Polish musical scene by becoming an overnight nightclub singing sensation.
Oh, did I mention those sisters are mermaids?
No, not the cutesy kind of mermaids.
The RIP OUT YOUR THROAT AND EAT YOUR HEART kind of mermaids!
And it's also a full-blown musical.
THE LURE actively defies being pinned down into any one genre, and director Agnieszka Smoczynska and songwriters Zuzanna & Barbara Wronska have created a pitch black/blood red fantasy world unlike anything you've ever seen before.
Joining me on this bizarre yet fabulous journey is MAYA MURPHY from the NIGHTWING ESCALATION web series.
